Botanic Kids - Nature play Jersey

Hello there! I’m Pippa White, teacher, wife, mother of three and now the proud owner of Botanic Kids. I have spent the last twenty years teaching in primary schools and bringing up my three children. While working at St George's Preparatory School I witnessed first-hand how the breathtaking surroundings and access to nature enriched the pupils' lives and learning. It was not uncommon to pull open a tray in my classroom and find a collection of sticks, pinecones and leaves that had been squirrelled away following playtime. After many years of daydreaming about creating a space for children to learn about our beautiful world through natural resources, I decided that it was now or never!

I strongly believe that children learn best when they are given the freedom to explore and discover at their own pace, following their own interests. That's why I have created workshops that are designed to be child-led, encouraging curiosity,  creativity and development of key skills through high-quality natural resources.

Botanic Kids workshops offer a unique approach to nature-based play, setting us apart from traditional outdoor activities. Our programs focus on bringing the wonders of the outdoors inside, allowing children to connect with nature even when the weather keeps them indoors. As well as natural resources in their raw form, we provide resources for play that are plastic-free, sustainably sourced and ethically made. By integrating natural elements into our indoor play spaces, we foster a continued appreciation and support for the environment. This innovative method ensures that, come rain or shine, children can experience the benefits of nature-based play, cultivating a lifelong respect and love for the natural world. 

Our workshops combine the best of educational theory with high-quality natural resources to create outstanding practice. Rooted in the principles of experiential learning, our workshops engage children in hands-on, nature-based activities that foster curiosity, creativity, and a deep connection to the natural world. By integrating elements of play, exploration and parental support, we provide a rich, stimulating environment where children can develop essential skills, enhance their understanding of the world, and cultivate a lifelong appreciation for nature.
